Exports of timber products from Finland declined by 1%, import by 10%

In the first three quarters of 2017, exports of timber products from Finland declined 1% year-on-year to 8.9 billion EUR, according to a report from the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke). In September 2017, deliveries by Finland timber companies to foreign markets were estimated at 990 million EUR.

At the same time volume of timber imported from other countries according to the results of the first seven months of 2017, declined by 10% to 5.2 million m3 (figures provided by Natural Resources Institute Finland; Luke).

For instance, In July, Finland imported 750 thousand m3 of timber, which is 9% less than a year earlier.
